Between 2 homes, I’ve had at least 6 Nespresso machines. Usually the Citiz, one lower in the line, one larger one ($’s). The first, circa 1999, lasted 5 years, the rest perhaps 3. We draw 6 to 8 per day. I got tired of paying Nespresso good money for questionable product. So I bought an inexpensive, non-Nestle machine this time.It’s brand new so I can’t judge longevity/reliability. What I can say is this thing pours the best Nespresso I’ve ever had with Nespresso machines I’ve owned. The temp is definitely higher. Hopefully by design. The result with our Napoli’s is an espresso that comes close to our manual – when we nail it (seldom).Build quality is mixed. It looks great but is a bit less stable (still one handed operation). Material quality is also a bit thinner than a Nespresso. Paint and fit very good, switches and cord very good.5 weeks later: This machine is great. Pours are consistent, much hotter than any Nespresso machine we’ve had (possibly draconian EU energy efficiency regulations), much better espresso out of the same capsules. Only downside is its more a 2-handed operation than I originally assumed. Another hand is needed for stability as the rubber feet are a really dumb design, too high, too inboard, too cushy. I may remove them at some point.8 weeks later. We’ve now discovered our espresso drinking has gone way down. Neither of us enjoy using the machine. It’s a typical American product with cheap, pardon me “value”, being the only criteria. There is not a corner capable of being cut that hasn’t been cut. So it ends up being a Nespresso capsule machine capable of pouring a great espresso. With the downside being it’s such a lousy product to use, we don’t use it.We would not buy again.

Just what I was looking for! Plus, the water heats up a bit hotter than some of the other brands. And it heats quickly!

This item arrived with low expectations — I had paid a bargain basement price for the Hamilton Beach unit to replace a pricey Bluetooth enabled Nespresso machine that had begun to fail after two years of service.The HB unit is compact, pretty, and does its one thing quite well. My wife declared it “cute!” upon first glance.It preheats quickly. It produces espresso at 180F, quite a bit hotter than my Very Expensive unit. The taste is very good, consistent, and frankly indistinguishable from what my old machine produced. The limited-feature-set software made it easy to program the double and lungo sizes for cortado and lungo delivery perfectly sized to my demitasse cups; two lungos fill my 10oz mug.First impressions were that the unit vibrates quite a bit. An untended cup may wiggle off of the platform (and did). Since I got it situated on a flat surface, it is running reliably and happily. I much prefer the Hamilton Beach unit’s fully mechanical mechanism to the software-and-actuator-laden machine it replaces.Overall, a satisfying experience and happy users.

Wow! This is one fine unit. The only limitation compared to a VERY similar Nespresso machine is that the cup shelf is not adjustable. This means that you can’t use a taller mug or cup, you must use a traditional height (think restaurant size) coffee cup. Other than that, it’s all great! You can easily change the preset amount to make for both regular and longo, the pump has had no issues with two different brands of compatible pods. It even looks nice! (I assume that the price is terrific because Hamilton Beach no longer makes a Nespresso compatible pod espresso maker.) Get ’em while you can!

I have been very back and forth on whether I wanted an espresso maker and just couldn’t make myself make the commitment to the amount of space an espresso maker takes up. This was a great alternative, although it was definitely a learning curve. Works well, and I end up with an espresso in no time at all.

THE BEST ESPRESSO MACHINE !Beautiful and well made. Easy to use right out of the box. Have bought many other Hamilton Beach products and have always been impressed with the quality and ingenuity. Uses Nespresso and Nespresso compatible capsules only. (This machine is better than Nespresso)
