Jessica –
I was a barista for a couple years during high school. I learned with a professional machine to make the perfect espresso and milk to make an amazing latte. Ive felt a lot of the big coffee shops closest to me don’t train their staff to understand the difference or care about the craft so i was really hoping this machine could give me the ability to make an awesome breve latte at home. Boy am i so impressed! Im still in shock by the difference from my old tiny 20 bar espresso machine that i bought on a budget. This thing is a beast in tiny package. Im beyond happy with my purchase. This machine has a lot of small settings to make sure you can make a really good espresso. Temperature control, grind size control(with a chart telling you what bean should be ground to, not all beans are ground at lowest setting) grind dose control(it pours the grind but you can tweak it so it doesn’t over fill the porta filter, different grind sizes will fill the filter at differently) i didn’t expect these adjustments to make such a big difference. I looked at a lot of brands and read a lot of reviews but this one stood out the most.

lam absolutely thrilled with my purchase of this coffee machine! From the first use, it has exceeded all my expectations, making it a must-have appliance for any coffee enthusiast. Here are some reasons why I wholeheartedly give it 5 stars. It is a game changer !
Nice product. Seems sturdy. The pan was larger than I expected, which was a good thing. I have a yellow napped Amazon and she cannot get to the floor from this stand. All in all happy with my purchase. –
Used daily for home use. No issues. Expensive but does not let you down. Better than cheap units.

I really like how the shots pulled and how I can change the temperature based on the beans I was using. Also, all the equipment included was really practical and useful.Unfortunately, since the costs of this machine includes the attached grinder, I think it should come detachable and with better grind settings. I couldn’t grind my light roast beans fine enough to get a slower, smoother shot, I couldn’t get to the inner burr for a finer grind, & and when I wanted to clean the grinder for new beans I was using, I could remove the hopper to properly clean the blades and grinder. For the cost, I wanted to maintain my machine weekly, but seeing as I can’t remove the hopper to clean it properly, I had to return it. If it had more grind settings and a removable hopper, then I would’ve kept it.

We use it daily and it’s amazing. When it goes into descaling mode we are in a panic because we are so hooked on the delicious nectar it produces.

Have been brewing espresso from the Arte for a few months now. Very impressed with the overall package, but some minor disappointment as well.First off, this comes with a non-pressurized brew basket which is great! The included tamper and mat are also really nice inclusions. I ended up buying a bottomless portafilter to see how my shots were being pulled and the entire setup still works with the new filter.Second the grinder has been great so far, even with the new portafilter. I’ve been grinding on 4–meaning there still is room to grind finer if I need it. Big downside is the non-removable hopper. But it’s recommended to only put in the amount you need anyway.Steam wand had me less than impressed at first since I’m used to commercial steam wands. However it has grown on me and it will finish steaming in about 10-15 seconds. I recommend looking up proper steaming technique for people just starting out. You don’t want to plunge the wand in all the way right when you start and only want to steam until the pitcher is too hot to grasp. All in all, it’s a great machine. No plastic taste from any of my shots. Non-pressurized baskets. PID to help control the temperature of the water. Steam wand performs well. Customizable shot times. Grinder that performs well. It’s a complete package. Two downsides:Plastic and lots of it. At MSRP I hesitate to say it’s worth it for the amount of plastic you receive. It looks nice. But once you start using and feeling it, I would be disappointed. On sale, it’s such a great buy for all the features you receive.Second, why the dark grey plastic for the water tank? It’s impossible to see the water level. Yes it has an indicator to warn you before you run out of water but it’sa simple design choice that could have made a huge difference.

A good entry level machinePros:Overall, the build quality is good and it has a nice look. It doesn’t take up too much space on a table. It’s easy to use, and the hop attachment on the portafilter really helps with puck preparation. Some brewing adjustments are available through hidden settings (read the manual!).Cons:The grinding is not very uniform, which is probably due to the conical burr used. It’s not too bad, though. The amount of ground coffee varies with the same setting, as it is based on time rather than weight. The grinder can be messy sometimes as grinded coffee is flying out around the machine. There is no water flow adjustment, so it always passes the same amount of water regardless of your coffee weight.Overall:It’s a good starting point if you want a little bit more control over your coffee brew. One can adapt and tweak the machine to their liking to a certain point. However, don’t expect full control here, it is a basic mass consumer model.
