The quality of the product is great. I purchased a more expensive expresso machine and had to send both of them back, they just did not work! The I purchased a cheap machine and returned that one too. Best machine ever.

This fit our aesthetic perfectly! We thought about buying the typical Breville machine but we don’t like the stainless steel look and the black version was way too out of our budget. We enjoy this machine so much, definitely beginner friendly. My only complaint is the espresso shot doesn’t come out as hot as I would like so by the time I’m done steaming the milk & combine the two, my coffee is considered warm at this point… and that’s being at it’s “maximum temp” in the machine’s settings… but I’ve learned to work around it. I still don’t actually know if it’s the espresso part or the steaming part that’s not as hot, but I steam until I can no longer hold the pitcher in my hands so I do think it’s the espresso part. Anyways, very sleek, we love it.

The grinder was incapable of pulling an espresso shot. Using the number 7 grind setting as suggested by the instruction manual, a 16g dose yielded 32g in 12-14 seconds. I went all the way to finest setting and it only extended the brew time to 15 seconds! The coffee tasted well under extracted. Why even sell an espresso machine with a grinder if the grinder can’t grind fine enough to make espresso??? Very disappointed I wasted half a bag of coffee beans trying to dial in this machine. Warning to all shoppers! Just spend the money and get a Breville Barista Express!

The front-panel controls are hard to “find” (there is no intuitive exact location for the “buttons”, so it is unknown whether you should press directly on the words in the “soft” display or under/over them.) And they typically don’t respond right away, especially the power button. This is very annoying. Sometimes they respond slowly, meaning even though you think you’ve tried to turn the unit on, it turns on and then turns right back off, starting the whole process again. I shouldn’t have to hunt and peck around for each button to turn it on, start a shot, or wonder if it is ever going to respond. The water pump vibrates the unit hard enough to move the cup you’re trying to fill with coffee…meaning you have to hold the cup in place while doing so.The force needed to twist the shot holder into place is enough to move the unit itself, so you have to hold the unit to keep it from moving with your other hand while putting it in place. There should be a feature to run steam through the shot holder prior to a cycle to warm it up…as it is you have to run a couple of empty shots just to warm everything up before making coffee or it comes out cold.

Was given this as a gift for Father’s Day gift, it is a pretty great machine.Connecting to the Smart HQ app is nice to set volumetric dosing for shots (only in ounces), grind time, and water temperature 194°F (darker roasts) to 208.4°F (lighter roasts). You can also manually program as well. The Grinder is only 15 LARGE Steps, but it still has the same range as similar models that have 30 Steps+. It is easy to potentially clog the machine, but it can be cleaned out with the brush and maybe a metal chopstick to break up any retained grounds. This machine has a lot of retention, explaining why they recommend weekly cleaning of the grinder. The steam wand is POWERFUL, much more powerful than comparable models within the family.Overall, this a very good machine with a high quality portafilter and heavy-duty metal tamper. Worth every penny.

I absolutely love this machine!!! The first picture is a fresh pulled double espresso. The other two are with milk. It makes wonderful crema on top. Couldn’t be happier. This is my second review. I wanted to add pics.
